The application for Mayor Daley's Youth Ready Chicago (formerly KidStart), which offers summer jobs, apprenticeships, and internships, is now available for application submission until May 29, 2009. As the kids say: holler at your boys and girls! Don't let them miss out!
Young people from the ages of 14-24 are encouraged to apply on-line. Each opportunity offers youth hands-on experience and an opportunity to gain marketable skills, supporting a successful transition from school into the work force.
There they can explore the web site for valuable information on resume writing and interviewing tips.

The Mikva Challenge's mission is to develop the next generation of civic leaders, activists and policy-makers by providing young people with opportunities to actively participate in the political process.
The 2009 Summer Government Leadership Institute (SGLI) internship application is now available for high school juniors and seniors. Internships include 20 hours per week working in the office of an elected official and 5 hours per week attending a Mikva workshop.
Orientation is Tuesday, June 23rd or Thursday, June 25 from 12 - 5 pm and internships begin Monday, June 29, and end Friday, August 7, 2007.
In addition to the=2 0experience, students will also be paid $8/hour and receive CTA fare cards
to cover traveling expenses.
